Day 1     Meet in Woodstock at the Blue Horse Inn for a welcome lunch and bike fitting. Bike north on beautiful country roads to Randolph, our home for the next two nights.  Take a dip in the pool, hike some of the many lovely trails, or sip a drink on the veranda overlooking the golf course and Green Mountains. Enjoy a delicious dinner to reward the day’s exertions.

Day 2     Today’s ride takes us along the crest of a ridge with miles of fabulous views, charming New England towns, and a floating bridge. Swim in the lake if you like before we continue our ride through this enchanting landscape.  Back at our inn, you’ll have time before another wonderful dinner to relax and enjoy all the amenities at this fine resort and its gorgeous 1,300 acres.

Day 3     Our sensory indulgence continues today as we cycle past covered bridges and fields of corn, smell heady scents like sun on pine needles and feel the exhilaration on long fast downhills.  We’ll enjoy lunch at a lovely country store which doubles as the town’s news center. The town of Woodstock is our destination and our home for the next three nights.  Our luxurious riverfront inn is steps from the town’s shops, galleries, and spa.  If you like, take a dip in the pool, play a little tennis and enjoy our cocktail hour.  Tonight you will be treated to dinner at award winning The Prince and the Pauper which the Boston Globe reviews as “one of Vermont’s finest restaurants.”

Day 4     Lots of fantastic Vermont and New Hampshire biking interspersed with historic towns and spectacular natural sights are in store for you today. We’ll view dramatic Quechee Gorge, visit Simon Pearce glassblowing and cross the river into Hanover, New Hampshire.  There you’ll have time to explore this

wonderful town and refuel at one of the many delicious cafés. If you are craving something sweet, you may want to head back into Vermont to the King Arthur Flour school and store for a treat at this award-winning artisan bakery.  We’ll burn off those calories and hardly realize it, distracted as we are by the gorgeous scenery on our return to Woodstock.  Dinner is on your own tonight with many wonderful options a walk away.

Day 5     Today we pedal south past the Green Mountain Horse Association along beautiful roads offering stunning views.    We’ll pass shaded streams and trout filled lakes en route to Calvin Coolidge State Park.  Here you may well feel that you’ve stepped into a previous century.  Tour the Coolidge Homestead and the village of Plymouth Notch, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Sample the artisan cheese at the Plymouth Cheese Factory.  We’ll head down the road to wash down the cheese at the Long Trail Brewery.  For our last dinner together we have a special treat.  We’ll visit a 1,000 acre hilltop farm and dine in the new post and beam restaurant with gorgeous views of the valley below.  Our chef is one of the region’s best and he uses fresh, organic foods raised right there on the farm. Bon Appetite!

Day 6     After breakfast today we’ll visit the Billings Farm and Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park and mansion. Hike to a hilltop with panoramic views and enjoy a picnic lunch as we savor the views.  We complete our journey by hiking back to our inn.  It will surely be hard to say goodbye to new friends and fun times but we’ll take wonderful memories of this very special corner of the world with us.

In addition to this bike trip in Vermont, we offer four additional tours in New England: a Boston area bike tour a Block Island tour, an Islands and Seacoast Cycle Tour and a Rhode Island vacation bike tour.
